Updates on Garbage Bins

During a recent Litter Bin Program briefing I was assured that the City was on top of keeping public garbage bins in our ward in state.

I subsequently went around our neighborhood to locate and compile a list of any damaged garbage bins that might have been missed. I found the following:

This was sent to the City of Toronto’s Transportation department as well as Astral Media Out-of-Home who is in a contractual agreement with The City of Toronto for the installation and maintenance of up to 25,000 street furniture elements over the 20 year term of the agreement. This program is a public-private partnership wherein Astral manufactures, owns, cleans and repairs all of their street furniture within the City of Toronto, at no cost to the taxpayer, in exchange for managing the advertising rights on the transit shelters and info pillars.

Astral Media Out-of-Home has confirmed that all reported litter issues were completed on May 25. In addition, their Quality Control Technician will perform a full Ward audit, in the upcoming week
