Temporary Road Closure on Yorkview Drive between Fleetwell Court and Wynn Road

Start Date: Tuesday March 14, 2023

End Date: Friday March 24, 2023

*Timeline is subject to change.

The City of Toronto is modifying and upgrading the storm and sanitary sewer system in your area in order to reduce surface and basement flooding.

Due to the depth and nature of the sanitary sewer construction work on Yorkview Drive the road will be closed between Fleetwell Court and Wynn Road effective 7:00am on Tuesday March 14, 2023, to 7:00pm on Friday March 24, 2023.

Motorists are reminded to abide by traffic/construction signs posted in local areas to ensure the safe travel of all local road users, pedestrians, and cyclists. This project is part of the Council-approved 2020 Basement Flooding Protection Program to improve the water distribution system; renew our aging infrastructure and reduce the risk of sewer collapse or blockages that cause sewer backups and flooding.

WHAT TO EXPECT DURING CONSTRUCTION

  • Traffic Management on Yorkview Drive between Fleetwell Court and Wynne Road: From 159 to 141 Yorkview Drive on south side, and from 152 to 144 Yorkview Drive on north side will be fully closed to outside traffic.

  • Pedestrians: Sidewalks will be kept open for pedestrian use. When work is taking place on the sidewalk, signage will be placed to provide information about which side of the road to use.

  • Work Hours: Work will take place from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Thank you for your patience. Building a great city takes time. Better infrastructure for all of us is worth the wait.
