Edithvale Movie Night

We hosted our annual Edithvale Movie Night on Friday, July 17 in partnership with Toronto Parks and Recreation, bringing residents together for an evening of family-friendly fun and neighbourhood connection.

A heartfelt THANK YOU to our Parks staff, whose dedication, flexibility, and professionalism made the event possible despite changing air quality conditions throughout the day. When conditions temporarily improved that afternoon, staff quickly adapted plans to open the park's outdoor pizza oven so residents could gather and enjoy freshly made pizza together.

As air quality worsened later in the day, Parks staff once again responded with remarkable agility, moving the event indoors so Movie Night could continue safely. Their teamwork and commitment to serving our community were evident every step of the way.

I also want to apologize to those who were unable to enjoy pizza that evening. Staff max out every year at 150 and keep the oven running as long as possible. In the future, we will make these limitations more clear so people can plan accordingly.

After two days of poor air quality that led to many outdoor activities being cancelled, I could tell people were eager to get back outside and be together. Seeing the gym filled with families, neighbours, and friends enjoying an evening together was incredibly heartwarming.

Thank you as well to our volunteers, community partners, and everyone who came out. Your flexibility, support, and community spirit helped turn a challenging day into a memorable evening. I am grateful to everyone who played a part in making it possible.
