This past Sunday, I joined members of our community in observing the procession honouring fallen Toronto Police Service Constable Marc Pinizzotto. The motorcade travelled from the Office of the Chief Coroner in North York to a funeral home in Thornhill, as colleagues solemnly escorted him with dignity and respect.
Constable Pinizzotto, an 18-year member of the Toronto Police Service, a husband and father of two, and a dedicated member of the Emergency Task Force, lost his life in the line of duty on June 11 while serving our community.
I would like to thank 32 Division, Toronto Fire Services and Toronto Paramedics for showing your love and support to the Pinizzotto family. My thoughts are with Constable Pinizzotto’s family, loved ones, and colleagues during this incredibly difficult time. His service and sacrifice will not be forgotten.
Members of the public wishing to pay their respects can sign books of condolence:
Toronto Police Headquarters (40 College St.) from June 15 to 26, weekdays from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM, as well as at
23 Division (5230 Finch Ave. W.) from June 13 to 26, between 8 AM and 8 PM, including weekends
33 Division (50 Upjohn Rd.) from June 13 to 26, between 8 AM and 8 PM, including weekends.
An online condolence book (tps.ca/marc-pinizzotto/) is also available.
