In our recent meeting with the project management team we got some updates on the status of the upcoming Newtonbrook Community Recreation Centre located at the base of the M2M community at Yonge and Cummer. Spanning an impressive 46,000 square feet over two-story, this facility is planned to include:
A 12,300 square foot gymnasium
A 15,500 square foot multi multi-purpose space
A running track
A community kitchen
Community multi multi-use space
Common area multi multi-purpose space
Free public WiFi
Gender-neutral washrooms and change rooms
Storage and staff office space
Project is currently under site plan approval and tender is anticipated in Fall 2023, construction is planned to start in 2024 and the occupancy is expected in 2027.
