401 Interchange
The Environmental Assessment (EA) scope is being finalized with Ministry of Transportation (MTO). A consultant team will be procured once M
TO confirms the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The EA study will begin after procurement, followed by the launch of a project web page and opportunities for community input.
Transform Yonge
The Transform Yonge project proposed a number of streetscape and public realm improvements on Yonge Street, from Sheppard Avenue to Finch Avenue. Detailed design is expected to start in early 2026, followed by public consultation. Construction and utility relocation could begin as early as 2028, once Beecroft Avenue and Doris Avenue extensions are completed.
Doris Extension
Work continues on the Doris Avenue extension, from Sheppard Avenue East south to Tradewind Avenue. Preliminary design is expected to be completed this fall 2025. Recent progress includes utility investigations, land surveys, archaeological reviews and a cultural heritage assessment, which will continue through the end of the year. Detailed design is scheduled to take place in 2026 and 2027. A public event to gather community input is anticipated in spring 2026. Utility relocation and construction could begin as early as 2027.
Beecroft Extension
The extension of Beecroft Road, from Finch Avenue West north to Drewry Avenue, continues to move forward. Preliminary design is underway and slated to finish fall 2025, with ongoing discussions with property owners and stakeholders to support future acquisition and constuction. Next, the City plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for detailed design in early 2026, including opportunities for public input. Utility relocation and construction could begin as early as 2027.
