Thank you to everyone who joined us for our 8th Climate Action Roundtable, where residents came together to participate in a Climate Fresk workshop.
Through an interactive card game and group discussion, participants explored the causes and impacts of climate change, while reflecting on our individual and collective circles of control and influence. We also discussed how our actions can connect with and build upon the work others are already doing in the community.
These were not always easy conversations. As participants worked through the activity, the scale of the climate crisis brought up real emotions, including anxiety, dread, and hopelessness. An emotion wheel helped guide part of the discussion and created space for residents to acknowledge and share what they were feeling.
While the challenges ahead can feel daunting, the workshop also encouraged us to focus on meaningful and actionable steps we can each take in our daily lives and communities.
Despite the weight of the topic, there was also a strong sense of support and connection in the room. Being surrounded by neighbours who care deeply about the environment was a reminder that we do not have to carry these concerns alone.
Workshops like this are important because they create space for learning, reflection, and shared action. When the challenges ahead feel overwhelming, being part of a community helps us continue moving forward together.
A special thank you to Suranjita Khaund and the Climate Fresk facilitators for organizing and guiding such a thoughtful and meaningful workshop.
