I recently joined the Yonge North York BIA for a behind-the-scenes tour of Rendez-vous Canada 2026 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, hosted by Destination Toronto. As Canada's largest international tourism trade show, Rendez-vous Canada brings together tourism operators, destinations, and travel buyers from around the world. This year's event features more than 60,000 business-to-business appointments and is expected to generate over $100 million in future tourism sales, highlighting the significant economic impact of major conventions on Toronto and Canada. Our goal was to learn how communities across Canada are promoting themselves to visitors and to explore opportunities to strengthen Willowdale's connection with Destination Toronto. We were grateful for the opportunity to see the event in action and to learn more about Destination Toronto's commitment to showcasing the diverse neighbourhoods that make our city unique.
As Toronto continues to attract visitors from around the world, we look forward to seeing more of Willowdale's vibrant businesses, culture, and attractions featured as part of the city's tourism story.
