As another school year comes to a close, it was wonderful to celebrate with students, families, and community partners at Avondale Public School's Bike to School Day. Seeing so many families choose to bike together was a great reminder that active transportation not only supports healthier lifestyles but also creates meaningful opportunities to spend quality time together and connect with neighbours.
Parents and students also had the opportunity to share their ideas for future cycling routes as the City continues its review of the North York Centre Secondary Plan. Thank you to everyone who took the time to provide feedback and help shape a safer, more connected community for all. You can add additional comments here: North York at the Centre - Potential Cycling Routes
A special thank you to North York Cycles, CycleTO, Smart Commute TO, and Live Green Toronto for their partnership and support in making this event possible, as well as the staff, volunteers, and the entire Avondale Public School community for a fantastic morning.
As summer begins, I encourage everyone to take advantage of our parks, trails, and cycling routes, and enjoy the many opportunities to stay active, spend time outdoors, and explore everything Willowdale has to offer. Wishing all students, teachers, and families a safe, restful, and enjoyable summer break!
