About the event

Drop-in: 6pm to 7pm

Community Discussion: 7pm to 8:30pm

The City of Toronto and Native Women’s Resource Centre of Toronto (NWRCT) are pleased to announce that the new shelter at 68 Sheppard Ave. W. will serve Indigenous women and children, the first municipal shelter to provide these critical services in Toronto.

This shelter is part of the Council-approved Homelessness Services Capital Infrastructure Strategy (HSCIS), which aims to open up to 20 new shelters city-wide by 2033. These sites will help respond to demand for shelter and stabilize the shelter system.

Join us for a meet and greet, an opportunity to learn more information, a meaningful community discussion, and to welcome the first indigenous women's shelter in our city!
