About the event
Get excited for the first ever Avondale Community Market piloting on August 7th, along with an afternoon of family fun and a FREE movie night with popcorn in the evening!
Join us at Avondale Park (15 Humberstone Dr, Toronto, ON M2N 7C1) at 3:00 pm for an afternoon and evening full of excitement, activities, and community fun.
What to bring:
- Sunscreen

- Cash for artisan market (payment methods will vary by business!)
Parking
- There will be no assigned parking for attendees of this event. There is a 3h max parking outside of restricted hours (7am-10am) along Humberstone Dr and Harrison Garden Blvd but both streets are most often already fully occupied on weekdays. Parking will be restricted on Everson Dr for event vehicles and guests.
- The nearest paid parking lot is on the NorthWest lot of Bales Ave and Avondale Ave: https://maps.app.goo.gl/UYmXBYNRabP81FG19
- We strongly recommend you take public transportation to get to the event!
Event Schedule
- The Market will run from 3pm to 8:30 pm (or until sundown, when the movie is about to start). You are more than welcome to stay with your setup during the movie as well, however please note that it will get quite dark after sunset.
- The Movie (Super Mario Bros) will screen from sundown to about 10:30 pm.
- Along with Market and Movie, there will be family fun activities and performances throughout 3- 8 :30 pm. Please see schedule below:

Washrooms
- There are no public washrooms at Avondale Park. There are businesses/gas stations on Yonge Street that may be willing to allow use of their washrooms, however it is not guaranteed. Food Basics, Esso, and Shell are some options nearby.
Police Presence
- Should any situations arise that pose a risk to your safety and the safety of other event attendees, please notify the Police right away. We will have 32 Division officers on site from 5-8:30 pm who can offer immediate assistance.
Ice cream schedule:
Tickets will be handed out starting at 6 pm, to attendees that come to Councillor Cheng’s tent. One ticket will be given out per person, and each person will be stamped on the hand.
Ice cream truck will be present from 6:30 – 8 pm. Quantities will be limited.
