Get excited for the first ever Avondale Community Market piloting on August 7th, along with an afternoon of family fun and a FREE movie night with popcorn in the evening!

You heard that right, we are inviting local Willowdale artisans and vendors to have FREE selling booths at Avondale Park, to join us in the launch of the Avondale Community Market. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, and space will be granted to local businesses only. When we say block party, we really mean PARTY! In addition to the vibrant market anticipated for this event, we will have several organizations and family fun activities available from 3pm to sundown! We will have free dance classes run by Stardance and bollywood dance classes by Rashmi, Face Painting, Fire Truck visit, the City of Toronto Playmobile with lots of fun sport activations, and Toronto Police Canine officers! It will also be an opportunity for engagement in consultations and information booths for upcoming changes/proposals in the area, such as Off-Leash Dog Park, North York at the Centre and Metrolinx. We also hope to invite several community non-profit organizations such as North York Seniors Centre and Neighbourlink.

Finally, once the sun sets, we will be screening the Super Mario Bros movie and providing FREE popcorn as you enjoy the remainder of the summer evening with your family and neighbours.
